Prayer is how we talk directly to Jesus, letting HIM know our desires
of our heart. Through prayer, we Christians can see situitations changed, as
well as lives.
2 Chr 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
(KJV)
I adopted the above verse for a prayer room on the internet where lives have
been touched through prayer. It is truly my prayer for our nation in these
troubled days.
James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
(KJV)
Matt 18:19
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
(KJV)
Matt 21:22
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
(KJV)
Jesus demonstrated the importance of prayer as HE would get alone to spend
time in prayer to the Father. I have realized if prayer was so important for the
Son of God, then its is much more important to us Christians.
Luke 6:12
And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
(KJV)
Luke 22:44-46
44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
(KJV)
In an answer to questions from HIS disciples asking why they could not
cast out spirits and disease, Jesus said in ...
Mark 9:29
And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
(KJV)
Eph 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
(KJV)
Phil 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
(KJV)
Col 4:2
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
(KJV)
James 5:15
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
(KJV)
In reading the scriptures above, the Holy Spirit has shown me just how important
prayer is in our daily lives. Just as Jesus said and promised in HIS Word, we
will see miracles and favor with God, provided we do what Jesus says and obey
HIS Word.
